Our next meeting will be held on Friday 10th January 2020 at 2pm at All Saints Church Hall, Park Road, Southport. The subject of the talk will be VIOLENT VOLCANOES and the presenter is Hazel Clark, a recognised lecturer at the University of Liverpool. Volcanic eruptions are some of planet Earth’s most spectacular displays. However, many volcanoes are located adjacent to major population centres and pose significant risks to life and property. This talk will explore what the hazards are, how volcanoes are monitored, and how we have tried to control them.

All are welcome to attend these lectures. SUES members enter for free, but there will be a small admission fee of £2 for non-members.

  1. I am interested in joining SUES and note that you have a talk for £2 for non-members on Friday 10th January. Can I just come along or do I need to reserve a place?

    1. Hi Janet,
Apologies for the late response – I hope you made it to the talk! No reservation is necessary, feel free to just turn up to any lecture.
