An Introduction to Shakespeare’s World by Kathleen O’Leary (followed by cream tea!). From 2:00pm – 5:00pm.

The lecture will take place at the Quaker Meeting House in Southport. All are welcome to attend; SUES members enter for free, but there will be a small admission fee of £2.00 for non-members. Reservation is not necessary but you are welcome to book a place if you would like to do so.

  1. Thank you for inviting me to talk about Shakespeare! Your hospitality was much appreciated – the cream tea excellent!
    for anyone who missed the talk I looked at the world in which Shakespeare lived, examining how monarchy, politics and religion impacted on his work. I also explored the world of the theatre – costumes, rehearsals, props, scenery and the actual construction of the theatres and where they were situated in early modern London.
